Korea Develops Core Components for Digital Audio Broadcasting
December 08, 2006
A Korean state-backed consortium of 24 institutes has developed key DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) components, including RF (Radio Frequency) and baseband chipsets. The Korean industry's reliance on foreign imports for these chipsets is expected to decline as a result of this project. The consortium also unveiled a fusion technology that integrates traditional RF and baseband chipsets, enabling less power consumption and smaller sizes for DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) mobile devices.
